Oral Pathology is that part of Pathology and a branch of dentistry concerned with the scientific study of the causes and effects of oral disease an understanding of which is essential for diagnosis and for the development of rational treatment and preventive programmers.

Various research projects have been carried out in Oral Pathology and published in respected peer-reviewed journals. Oral Pathology department in BDCH is an academic department with responsibilities for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and provision of a specialist,diagnostic head and neck reporting service.

Over a period 21 years, Oral Pathology department has 34 distinguished alumni serving in various capacities in different institutions all over the country as well as overseas.

Oral Pathology department is actively involved in providing services to the patients in the areas of hematology, biochemistry, histopathology, cytology, and microbiology. Various research projects are carried out by the postgraduate students and the teaching staff.
