| | | The Department of Periodontics provides instruction and clinical experience dealing with the etiology, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases of the periodontium in adults. The Department also boasts of hundreds of implants placed till date with an extremely good success rate. Postgraduate students are encouraged to use the latest equipments like Piezosurgery, ridge augmentation kits, sinus elevation tools and microsurgery. |
| | | | The research programs are numerous and diverse. These include clinical research programs in the diagnosis and treatment of periodontal disease, modeling of the progression of periodontal disease, studies of new regenerative and implant techniques, and studies of the link between periodontal disease and systemic diseases. The Department has numerous publications to its credit in national and international journals.
The goal of the Department is to provide the undergraduate and postgraduate student with a strong educational foundation in periodontology for their future careers in Dentistry and to contribute new knowledge through basic and clinical research in Periodontics.
