Conservative Dentistry as a subject includes endodontics, crowns, fixed and semi-fixed bridgework and operative procedures for the restoration and replacement of teeth whether supported by natural abutments or implants. Our division has a strong teaching and clinical record and special expertise in the evaluation of new restorative materials and techniques. The popularity of the department for graduate and post graduate education derives from the close personal contact with enthusiastic clinicians who are interested in the latest techniques for treatment. The unit has separate undergraduate and post graduate clinics functioning independently. The day to day out patient input ranges from 45 - 50 and the number of treated cases per day ranges up to 50.

The pre clinical lab with 50 KaVo phantom heads and 30 others is well equipped to cater to the preclinical needs for the 1st and 2nd Year students. It also has a separate plaster laboratory for the convenience of the undergraduates. Post graduate training is highly disciplined and systematic. The novices are trained under guidance to carry out an assortment of treatments varying from simple to complex restorations which includes pin amalgam, bonded amalgam, cast restoration like Inlays, Onlays, Veneers, Bleaching , Endodontic procedures like RCT, post -endo restoration including post co re and full veneer crowns etc.
